Sept. 1 is the deadline to pay your 2002 SABL dues

OK gang, it's that time you know and love again! Time to cough up that $15 in annual dues to your favorite dictator - er - commissioner for next year's fun in the good old SABL.

Remember that you will not be allowed to draft unless you've paid your dues. So why not get that check in the mail today and make it out to your favorite Strat-O-Matic leader, me, Scott Ellis. You'll feel better.

East Asia's Paul Bennett wins 2002 Coach Of The Year!

Congratulations again to the Dragons' Paul Bennett, who has won his second-straight SABL Coach Of The Year honor. Paul, who also won his first SABL Championship this year, is the first SABL coach to win Coach Of The Year twice. Galactic Coach Steve Walters won it in 2000 and Brooklyn Coach Steve Feldheim won our first SABL Coach Of The Year honor in 1999.

Time to vote for the 2002 SABL MVP!!!!

Get those votes in by August 1! Pick your favorite player, but just one player, in either conference, to win this coveted title! Send me your votes ASAP!

Do not pick two players. Do not pick one from each conference. Just pick one overall, just like the NBA does!

We are sticking with Strat basketball one more year

I gave in and redid my dual boot of Windows ME and Windows XP to accommodate stupid Strat-O-Matic's computer basketball game. That means I won't be going to Galactic Coach Steve Walters' house and running the league from there. Nope, I decided Steve might not like to be awake at 3 am on a regular basis, so I'll be doing it all right here again next season.

We will reevaluate our continuance with Strat at the end of next season.
