The SABL BS
Volume 2 Issue 36 March 1998
FROM COMMISSIONER SCOTT ELLIS, 2ND AMER. BASKETBALL LEAGUE

New standings & stats are up!
Check out our standings link and you'll find a whole bunch of new numbers to look at! I'm 59-10, followed by Galactic at 41-12, Brooklyn at 53-15 and Holcomb at 38-17.
Running at the rear are the Panthers at 8-54, followed closely by Akron (13-37), Carbondale (15-35), Seattle (19-44) and Meade (16-33).
Leading in the Tim Duncan sweepstakes is whoever takes over the Carbondale team, which is coachless at this moment.
New league stats and team stats are also up here, too! Enjoy it my brothers!
December/January games autoplayed
One reason we have a lot of new numbers in our standings is because I stayed up until 5 a.m. on March 5 playing all the games some of our coaches should have been dealing with themselves. I've assessed penalty points where appropriate and if they've taken you out of the Tim Duncan sweepstakes it's your own lazy fault.
It's not my responsibility to babysit you. It's your team, your schedule and your league. You should have enough brains to read the Constitution, call up your opposing coaches and let me know what's going on. You don't wait around 4 to 6 weeks before doing so.
All you have to do is read our website regularly, know our Constitution, stay on schedule, email and phone me and your fellow coaches to ask us and let us know what's going on. If you can't do that, you really don't belong in the SABL.
February games to be autoplayed April 1
March games autoplayed on April 15
Please note the above two headlines. If I don't get game files from you by those dates, I'll play the games and assess penalty points where appropriate. The SABL season is going to finish on time, even if you don't.
AS OF NOW, NO ONE HAS A VALID EXCUSE FOR BEING LATE. LET'S ALL CATCH UP ASAP!

Who's trading?
Seattle sends Ceballos to Heat for Starks.
Aces send their 1st pick, Blocher's 2nd & H. Hawkins to Dazzlers for Pippen.
Heat sends Maulers' 1st pick to Motor City for Ward.
Druids trade Mashburn, Maxwell & Heat's No.1 to Austin for Chapman and McCarty.
These deals take effect next season.
14-man roster limit
If you have more than 14 people on your roster for this playing season, due to deals made before the midseason trade deadline of Feb. 1, you need to send me your cuts by March 8 or I'll make the cuts for you.
You also can trade these guys off instead before March 8, too. Our in-season rosters sizes are limited to 14 players. After the midseason trade deadline, you can have as many players on your roster as you want, as long as you cut down to 14 guys by the pre-draft trade deadline.
