FROM COMMISSIONER SCOTT ELLIS, 2ND AMER. BASKETBALL LEAGUE
Its playoff time!
Incredible as it may seem the 1997 SABL playoffs have started on time! Congratulations to all playoff times and to all the others who didnt make it but hung in there and finished this calamitous year.
Two teams that wouldve made the playoffs but didnt because they are now without coaches are Ayalas and Rodriguez teams. That put Charles Dillingham and Jeff Stahl into the hunt instead.
Also, due to a replay mixup on my part, I allowed Frank Rowley to the 9th team in the playoffs. Rowley and Stahl will play each other for the 8th spot and the winner will play me for the right to advance to the next round.
The other matchups go like this: In the bottom bracket, Steve Walters plays Dillingham and Bill Robinson plays Steve Feldheim, with the winners of those series playing each other for the right to advance to the SABL Championship.
In the top bracket, I play against Stahl/Rowley and Nick South plays Phillip Creider, with the winners of those series playing against each other for the right to advance to the SABL Championship.
All series are 2-3-2. The team with the most wins plays games first. Get your instructions out for the first five games ASAP! The playoff schedule is in the Schedule of Events and if you dont follow it, playoff games or not, they will be autoplayed.
Check with me if you have any questions.

Due to a lot of stuff, Mikes had to leave our league for now. I really liked Mike and I hope well be welcoming him back someday.

Whos trading?
Traxler trades Mullin to K. Feeney for Smits.
Ellis trades Perdue & Causwell to Everage for E. Williams & Gilliam.
Who really has picks?
A modified version of last issues list, this is the correct list. Assume that you own all your 1997 draft picks if you don't see them on this list. Everything on this list is an addition or subtraction of what you own. Let me know if I've missed something:
Walters owns Charles Dillingham's 2nd pick and M. Feeney's 2nd.
Rodriguez owns Robinson's 2nd.
Robinson owns K. Feeney's 1st and Traxler's 1st.
K. Feeney owns Walters 1st and 2nd, C. Dillinghams 1st, Rodriguez's 1st and Robinson's 3rd.
Smith owns Robinson's 1st.
Final stats enclosed
Check 'em out. Theyre posted. A lot of games were autoplayed because many stats did not reach Steve Walters or me by April 19th or because they were involving teams that had changed hands so many times our heads were swimming. I hope to avoid all this next season.
