FROM COMMISSIONER SCOTT ELLIS, 2ND AMER. BASKETBALL LEAGUE
Welcome another new coach, Marc Schlotthauer
Matt LaClear has decided not to be an SABL coach after all, but never fear, we have someone who already wants to take over the Philly Super Freaks franchise and by golly, he can! Our newest coach is Marc Schlotthaur, of 492 S. Center St., Sublimity, OR 97385. Phone: 503-769-3860 (home) and 503-378-4500, ext. 22276 (work). Email: hawtin47@teleport.com
Of course, Marc's in the west, so his franchise, renamed the Sublimity Senators, will be moving to the West Division and, you guessed it, those "East" Asia Dragons will be staying the East Division after all. Phone or drop Marc an email and welcome him to the SABL. Good luck, Marc!
Who's trading?
5. Bettendorf trades Feick to Miles for The Druids' first-round pick.
Steve Feldheim has the biggest heart in the SABL
Wanna know why? The Brooklyn Tiger coach returned home week from the hospital this week with a brand new heart via a heart transplant that literally save his life. You can't imagine how happy I felt when I received his phone call and heard Steve's vigorous voice on the other end of the line. He sounded like his old self for the first time in years. He says he feels great and he's ready to build his beloved Tigers back into an SABL powerhouse. Give him a phone call or send an email and say hello. He'd really enjoy it.
Welcome back, Steve, but I hate to tell ya' - I'm still gonna try and beat your butt.
Dues, dues, dues, dues - I'm always dunning you for dues
Wanna know why? Well, why not? We have the best national Strat basketball league in existence, we had our best season ever and we have loads of drafting, trading and playing fun! Who could ask for anything more?
Returning SABL coaches don't have to get their $20 dues checks into my hands until Sept. 1, but why not take a couple minutes now, make out that check to your favorite charity - er - I mean commissioner, and get it over with. You'll be glad you did.
Get those votes for 2000 SABL Coach Of The Year in!
When you send me your All-Star votes, also send me your choice for SABL Coach Of The Year. Last year, Brooklyn Coach Steve Feldheim won our first Coach Of The Year honor. Who will win this year?
Also time to pick your 1999-2000 SABL All-Stars!
Yes, it's that time again for all our SABL coaches to place their votes for our annual All-Star Games. Pick what you feel are the top 2 players at every position in the Royal Conference (West and East Divisions) and the top 2 players in the Classic Conference. I'm extending your voting time to July 1. Vote for two people in each conference at Point Guard, Guard, Small Forward, Power Forward and Center. Vote in both conferences, not just your own.
I anticipate those Amazing Feeneys will be playing this year's best-of-seven All-Star Series (no wimpy single game like in real-life!), once I forward the results on to them.
