Volume 2 Issue 52 February 1999
FROM COMMISSIONER SCOTT ELLIS, 2ND AMER. BASKETBALL LEAGUE
New stats up, I'm gone to Mardi Gras
I've posted new stats, league leaders, etc. Enjoy!
Also, I'll be gone from Feb. 13-20 to see Mardi Gras in New Orleans. I may never come back.
Autoplay Memphis team in all games
Memphis Coach Mike Feeney is asking everyone to autoplay his team in both home and away games for the regular season. Send me the game files, of course, when you're done and send Mike a copy, too.
New standings are posted, new stats soon
New standings are up, but I'm waiting to post anything else until after Feb. 10. I'm sure I'll be autoplaying some December games then and I want to wait until those results are in.
Lateness rule tightened - it's one week now
Since we can all play our games one month ahead of schedule, coaches can only be one week late with instructions and results before being liable for penalty points. With email, it's dead easy for us to quickly send information to each other.
Autoplay Meade for rest of season
Due to time constraints that will hopefully ease up by next season, Meade Coach Leon Rogers is instructing all his opponents to autoplay his team for both home and away games to get his season done.
By this simple instruction, Leon has avoided getting any more penalty points this year. If any of the rest of you cannot keep to your schedule, this option is available to you as well. Don't sit on your hands, let somebody know something!

Penalty point report
Here's the latest point totals and explanations of why new points were assessed:
Memphis - 6. Still don't have Day 45, Game 4, Memphis at Great Lakes. What is so difficult about autoplaying your opponent? Another point. 2 more points for Jan. 11, Galactic at Memphis, Games 7-9. How about Jan. 20, Games 1-4, Bettendorf at Memphis? Also, I have not received instructions from Memphis for his Games 7-12 vs. me on Jan. 27. 1 point. Memphis is down two notches in next year's draft.
Bettendorf - 5. Why hasn't Bettendorf autoplayed Meade in his Jan. 2 series with Leon? 1 point. How about Jan. 20, Games 13-16, Memphis at Bettendorf? 1 point. Bettendorf is down one place in next year's draft.
Finney - 5. No game file for Dec. 31, Game 16, Memphis at Finney. One point. Why hasn't Finney autoplayed Blocher in his Jan. 8, Games 9-11 series? 2 points. Finney is down one notch in next year's draft.
Richmond - 4. Jan. 5, Game 9. Why hasn't Frank autoplayed Carolina? 1 point. Why hasn't he autoplayed Chapel Hill on Jan. 5, Game 12? 1 point. Why hasn't Frank let me know what's happening with his Jan. 9, Games 13-16 series with Akron? 2 points. Frank is now knocked down one place in next year's draft.
Akron - 5. Jan. 3, Game 1. Why hasn't Dave autoplayed Carolina? 1 point. Jan. 10, Games 1-4, Richmond at Akron? What's happening? 2 points. Also, Dave is late with instructions to Richmond for his Jan. 10 games. 2 points. Dave is down two notches in next year's draft.
Garden City - 4. Jan. 25, Games 1-6 vs. Great Lakes. A long time ago I asked everyone to autoplay Great Lakes' games. Only the February games are being played by Great Lakes' new Coach Dennis Derby. 2 points. Garden City is down one notch in next year's draft.
Meade - 3. Leon's been late all over the place and the only reason he isn't getting more points is because he's letting everyone know to autoplay his team the rest of the season. Leon's also down a notch in next year's draft.
Holcomb - 2. Still don't have Day 49, Game 8, Meade at Holcomb. Will be autoplaying on Feb. 10.
Chapel Hill - 1. Jan. 3, Game 3. Why hasn't Tommy autoplayed Akron? 1 point..
St. Lucie - 1
All trades are now for next season
All trades made from Feb. 1 on are for next season.
Stats pour in, standings again updated!
Celebrity Deathmatch ain't got nothin' on the Aces as St. Lucie continues to chew up the SABL with an incredible 61-3 record, atop the South Division. Defending champ Brooklyn isn't so bad, either, as it sports a 31-6 record in East. Galactic's next at 34-14 and West leader Finney is 30-15. Richmond follows at 22-11 and Miles leads the cold North at 39-22. Check out our Standings link.
The division races are wrapped up and Galactic, Richmond and Carolina seem headed for the playoffs. With Memphis, Chapel Hill and Great Lakes all competing for the first pick next year, that leaves 6 teams battling for the three remaining playoff spots in the Royal Conference - Meade, Garden City, Deerfield, Holcomb, Akron and Blocher. Four teams are fighting for playoff berths in the Classic Conference - Tulsa and three of the amazing Feeneys, Tri-City, Davenport and Bettendorf.
Thanks for all the stats. Keep 'em coming!
